Most mental health struggles didn’t start with a disorder.

Dr. Jodee Gibson helps audiences understand what happened before the diagnosis, and why going back for what was interrupted changes everything.

Behavior isn’t the problem. It's simply evidence of development.

About Dr. Gibson

Dr. Gibson is a Lecturer at The University of Michigan Flint and the author of a published theoretical preprint available on SSRN. Her work sits at the intersection of developmental science, relational trauma, and systems change.

Signature Talks

Interrupted: Why People Stay Stuck, and What We’ve Been Missing | Why so many people cycle through treatment without lasting change, and how one developmental lens helps them finally move.

Beyond Trauma-Informed: Leaning Into Trauma Prevention | Trauma-informed care is the floor. This talk shows what it stands on, and how to move from responding to harm toward preventing it.

From Burnout to Healing | What the helpers need that no one taught us. Why practitioners and educators burn out working hard at the point where change comes slowest, and how understanding development restores both the work and the people doing it..

It’s about burnout.
It’s about prevention.
It’s about healing.
